That's not unreasonable. As you say, this is a gross generalization,
and in many cases/on average, these ratings systems don't vary that
much. (It might be interesting to do a more thorough analysis,
although one must remember that the purpose of most ratings systems is
to determine how good teams are, not who will get tournament bids.)

FWIW, Georgia Tech is the team with the largest discrepancy between
the Bracket Matrix and the Dance Card (although I realize the focus of
the latter is on what teams will get bids as opposed to their
seeding). On the Bracket Matrix, Georgia Tech is relatively safely

I still have a problem with that. The committee has repeatedly said that
they don't look at RPI rank, and I believe them. Just because 27 and 74
are the outer bounds of all time selections, that doesn't mean it will
stay that way.
Illinois clearly outpaces other teams on the bubble for quality wins.

Apparently, I just don't think Georiga Tech is as bad off as other
people do. Yes, they do need to beat North Carolina. Beyond that, I
don't think they need to win. Yes, they are building their case on
beating Duke, Siena, Florida State, and Clemson, but a #44 RPI rank +

Lunardi does "as of right now." As with all the last 8 or so teams, 1
quality win or 1 more bad loss could easily send them either way. I
will note that my question did include if they beat Wisconsin. I
still think that might not be enough. They would certainly have among
the most quality wins of any current buble team in the discussion
